Mistakes Are Inevitable

Affirmations:
I learn from the mistakes I make.
I easily forgive the mistakes I make.
I trust it is easier to learn when mistakes are forgiven.
I am willing to become helpful when anyone makes a mistake.

Forgive Mistakes

When we make mistakes and feel guilty, we often make them again.
When we judge mistakes made by others, they often make them again.
When we get angry about mistakes, they are often made again.
When we are forgiving of mistakes, they usually will not repeat.

Forgiveness is the key to happiness.
Blame and guilt are the way to hurt.
Erasing the past is the way to undo its consequences.
Remembering the past is the fast way to re-experience it.

Forgive and choose again.
Apologize and choose again.
Learn and choose anew.
Release and gain wisdom.

We learn from mistakes with a conscious mind and open heart.
We repeat mistakes with a fearful mind and guilty feeling.
We learn quickly when allowed to see what was the error without fear.
We neglect to learn, when we are so fearful of the punishment and disapproval.

Often children are curious and explore possibilities.
When children are given responsibility before they are aware of consequences, they may make mistakes.
Mistakes are the way people learn.
When children and adults can be encouraged to acknowledge the mistake, they more easily learn.

When they are humiliated, reminded and threatened about mistakes, they tend to shut down.
When they make mistakes but are not forgiven, they have more difficulty learning and remembering.
When they can see the mistake  and its consequences, they make better choices next time.
When they can realize the error themselves without added pressure and threats, they learn quickly.

Wise teachers allow the learner to correct themselves.
Critical teachers cast judgment and shame on others.
Understanding teachers help the learner to clarify what works.
Resentful teachers demand the learner stop making mistakes.

Be patient with your mistakes.
Learn and choose again.
Be patient when encouraging learning.
Allow mistakes to be opportunities to learn.

Forgive judgments and criticism.
Choose to respond with peace and understanding.
Learn from everything and everyone.
Be willing to find a way that works for all.

I release the past.
It is not here.
Letting go is fun, safe and easy.
Let us always be happy and willing learners.

Do It Anyway

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies.  Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you.
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy it all overnight.
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough.
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God.

It was never between you and them anyway.
