The celebration of winter solstice is a time to recognize changing light and seasons.
As we officially enter winter with less daylight and more dark, we remember light comes from within.
We learn to look for the delight and listen to our inner light.
As we celebrate the season of Light, we seek the light within ourselves and others.
Joy is Light.
Gratitude is Light.
Wisdom is Light.
Love is Light.
And so it is we seek the Light and delight in what we see and can be.
The Light of the Solstice is remembered in the white snow of winter, sparkling in the moonlight.
The Light of Christmas with the Star of Bethlehem and Christmas trees lights bring happy memories.
The candles of Chanukah awaken the miracles of faith as they bring joy and insight.
Even the light of Kwanza opens my heart to remembering true community outreach and compassion.
In winter, a time of rest and renewal, we are called to sit by the fire, reflect quietly and enjoy the peace.
During times of greater darkness we can share with friends and neighbors, read more and feel warm inside.
In times of less sunlight and warmth, we are called to conserve our energy.
When there is scarcity of needed fuel, food and heat resources, we are reminded to preserve what we have.
Natural responses to the changes in nature teach us when to conserve what we have.
We are learning to respond to our resources of time, money and energy.
We are taught by nature and the environmental changes as well as the changing times.
We can learn with ease through openness and willingness or with stress through our resistance and ignorance.
We waste no energy on complaining.
We increase our resources with appreciation.
We heal our judgments with optimum forgiveness.
We enjoy the changing seasons, when we respect their reminders.
The same is true with the changes in people and circumstances.
When we react with fear and judgment, pushing to do it our way, we meet resistance.
When we respond with love and acceptance, allowing what is to be, we enjoy what we have.
We can learn and benefit from all things, whether we like them or not.
Consider reflecting on what is.
Allow all judgments to be forgiven.
Sincerely learn and benefit from everyone and everything.
Remember your perception and appreciation make all the difference.
Today (and every day) is the best time to choose.
Be your best.
Give your best.
Enjoy your best.
Life your life well.
Loving you everyday in every way.
Betty Lue
