Written in response to numerous questions, concerns, stories told about when we might be able to return from Tahoe for our Sunday service and Monday appts.
Always ask before making assumptions.
Do not expect the worst.
If you anticipate a future happening, let it be one of freedom and trust.
Life offers us opportunities to learn and grow, to remember and know.
Being “snowed in” does not mean anything more than a lot of snow fell covering everything.
The “drama” we generate in our minds from a phrase or story is usually far more than is real.
I was born and grew up in Michigan, and lived several years in snow country.
For me heavy snow is not dangerous or difficult, but rather an adventure.
I cannot imagine being stuck.
Weather and temperatures change within minutes.
With snow and ice, there is gravel and salt, snow plows and chains.
All are used to travel safely through winter storms, slower but without difficulty.
When highways close, it is usually because of those who don’t know how to drive in winter snows.
Even the passes are passable, with appropriate equipment and slow speed.
So we were never stuck in Tahoe.
We came before the storm on Tuesday night and left at our planned time on Saturday mid day.
The pictures, the writings, were all shared to tell a story.Stories are meant to inspire and expand our own life vision, experience and open possibilities.
Stories taken literally may serve to confuse or distract you from what is important and true.
We had a perfectly wonderful time in Tahoe during the storm.
Facts: Limited skiing due to high winds on two days. (We don’t ski.)
Beautiful big snow flakes to catch on your eyelashes and tongues.
Piles of powder, 18-24” or more to brush off our car.
Roads all plowed throughout the days, so no need for chains to get to the grocery store.
Highways were clear wherever we drove, so took no extra time to come home.
The storm warnings kept majority of folks off the roads, so no traffic.
Kids had outdoor hot tub indoor/outdoor swimming pool to swim in twice daily.
New exciting experience for them to see and feel snow falling.
All in in all, it was a perfect spring break for them all and for us.
Never fear.
You need not be concerned or worried.
Creativity always shows a way.
Life allows us to move to where we are called to be.
I am always in the right place at the right time doing the right thing.
I have used this affirmation to remember to open my mind to positive possibilities.
Yes, there was lots of snow, but always mobility and always choice.
Be aware of what you make up and what is true.
Most of life is the illusion and projection we have made up with our minds!
Believe in Freedom and Trust it will work for you all ways and always.
