Freedom in an Unfree World

In early 70’s Harry Browne wrote, “How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World” that changed my life.
I began to look at what I believed trapped me and how to get unstuck from the illustions of limitation.
I saw how I believed time, distance, money, laws, gravity emotions and my body vehicle limited me.
I remembered how my parents taught me to believe I could do and be anything I wanted.

So I began to look at what I would be, do and have, if I was truly unlimited.
I would fly and move and be wherever I was called, without a plane.
I would communicate without technology, person to person or to the whole of humanity.
I would love everyone, not for any reason ….simply to love.
I would create and not judge my creations.
I would teach everyone who wanted to learn.
I would clothe, feed, build, unite all who sought a better way of life.
I would freely give everything that was requested simply for the asking.

As I now see myself, this is how I live everyday.

From the teachings of A Course in Miracles I remembered that “To give All to All is to Have All.”I woke us to “ Everything I think and say and do teaches all the Universe.”I realized that “To Love my Brother is to Love myself.”  and “Only I can deny myself anything.”I noticed how people seemed to love one another by restricting them and questioning their choices.

I learned from a spiritual friend “It is not unusual for us human beings to secretly wish and hope that the people we’re close to don’t become too magnificent. We don’t really want these significant others to be too free or too powerful or too creative or too successful or to dream too wild a dream. We actually prefer that they stay small, “manageable”, non-threatening, tame. After all, we don’t want to be made to feel uncomfortable or inadequate or diminished or challenged by the boldness and joyfulness with which someone else lives his or her life.”

Since I remembered only being trusted by my parents, it seemed natural to trust others.
Since I had been given freedom as a child, except when my Dad asked me not to ride motorcycles or go on hay rides to handle his personal fear, I always knew I was free. And in adulthood I discovered that the world had many conditions, expectations, demands, needs all ruled by underlying fears in the human condition.
As I grew to understand the pain, inner conflict and frustrations of feeling limited, I began to question.

What does God want for those He loves?
What does our Creator want for His Creation?
What brings His Son Happiness and Inner Peace?
How are we to grow into fully actualizing the Gifts we are given?

We are already free.
We need only recognize the freedom and trust given us by God.
We are free to choose, free to think and act, free to create and build.
We are free to connect and communicate, free to commit and to change, free to celebrate and appreciate.

We are free.  The freedom is limited only by those who fear our freedom.
The freedom is limited only by those who are not yet free.
Until we are willing and actively desire that the key people in our lives be totally free and powerful, we cannot be free and powerful ourselves. So, here is an affirmation-prayer that may help us begin freeing others, so that we can begin to free ourselves.

So why not set others free?
I want you to be the highest, clearest and most powerful expression of God that you can be.  I would not limit you in any way, knowing that only as I encourage you to expand, explore and grow, can I myself be free.  So I fully support you in being and expressing all that you are.”
I want you to go where you feel called to go, to speak and act as you feel guided, and to express yourself in whatever ways seem right. There is nothing I do not want you to do, for I know that all movement is contained within God and always leads us to Him.

I am at peace with whatever decisions and choices you make, no matter how they may seem to affect me. Since I know that God loves and supports me perfectly, I know that however you choose to be with me must be a manifestation of that divine love and support. Because I trust God, I trust you. And because I trust you, I trust myself.

So, be free, be powerful, be unlimited. And know that I want you, to be the highest, clearest, most powerful expression of God that you can be. I fully support you in being all that you are”

To have freedom, give freedom to everyone as God gives us Freedom to BE.
To have freedom , love as God loves with Freedom and Trust for all Creation.
To have freedom, cast out fear with Love and free all to live and learn and let go as they will.
To have freedom, BE free.

Loving you, loving me with freedom and trust.
