Kids call The Lake House, their 3rd home.
We see it as our summer treat and lots of work.
Spirit calls it “LOVE.”
When was the last time you loved just for the joy of loving?
When did you last hold a little one in your lap and cuddle for a story?
When did you last teach someone good manners or how to set the table?
When did you show a child a worm or butterfly or listen to their imaginary friends?
We are with our three Alameda grandchildren this week at the Lake House.
I know this will be an annual event…one week each month during the summer.
We pick vegetables from the garden, build sand castles at the beach, go fishing from the dock.
We read stories and watch our favorite kid’s movies like Never Ending Story and Last Unicorn.
We learn how to be patient with one another and to share our things respectfully.
We laugh at the silly games and songs we sing together.
Last night we all went out to see the full moon before bed and sang.
“I see the moon. The moon sees me. I see somebody I want to see.
God bless the moon and God bless me. God bless the one I love.”
There are so many little ones in the world.
They need you and I to love them.
They need each one of us who is willing to teach them and show them how to love.
It is our responsibility and our gift to give love to all the little children of the world.
Smile at children.
Say please and thank you to children.
Be patient and forgiving those around you.
Everyone is doing the best they know.
Some have not learned because no one has taught them.
Some have learned mistakenly by those who are ignorant.
Some are simply afraid because they have been hurt or neglected.
Some are simply exploring the possibilities of how to live and love and give.
We are here to love all the little children.
Even the little child in adult bodies.
So let us love today to show everyone the way to LOVE.
Loving us all as one,
Betty Lue
