The father figure is the one who symbolically protects and provides.
While usually a male, it could be grandfather, uncle, brother, preacher, doctor or even mother or God.
In our world we have pictures of our ideal father figure and our feared father figure.
We imagine good qualities of kindness, strength, wisdom and courage.
We fear bad qualities of anger, punishment, rejection and denial.
We project these onto our imagined picture of God, spiritual Father.
Everyone holds their own picture of Father, protector and provider related to their life experiences.
When we have judgments or fears or lack of Love for our physical father, we see them in God.
When we hold feelings of separation, hurt and fear about our father figures, we hold the same with Source.
When we have not forgiven our father and withhold our Love, we feel similarly with our Creator.
When we fully appreciate and Love, everyone, we begin to appreciate and Love our inner Father.
When we have totally forgiven all mistakes, behaviors and words, we can open to the Love of God.
When we know that this healing begins within, we can see that we are here to help our physical parents.
When we realize we bring the Love we seek, we can release all blocks and give freely.
Father’s Day is an invitation to all those who need to be loved.
It is an opportunity to love the protector and provider in us all.
It is a celebration of all that is good and whole and creative.
We can love everyone, male and female, that protects and provides.
I often see that men are used by women and children.
Their gifts, which look like duties, seem to receive little gratitude.
Men often give, because they are taught to be strong, dutiful, enduring.
And then their gifts of time, money and energy are not valued.
Just as there are many differences in people, men have a wide variety of characteristics.
How they were raised, their role models, the expectations placed on them all influence their behavior.
It is possible to teach, program, heal and love men into being giving, caring and helpful.
Men seek to love and be love, to value and be valued, to be happy and content.
To better love our men and boys, we can listen to them more.
We can honor their unspoken needs with little gifts of love.
We can give them time off to simply have boyish fun.
We can let them know how must we appreciate the ways they give.
Just as our kindness, gentleness and respect towards men, we can offer more of the same to our Creator.
When we practice forgiveness with everyone and with ourselves, we learn to be more understanding.
When we are willing to listen deeply to the calls for love in the many disguises, we can be compassionate.
When we are open to be defenseless knowing that others upsets are always a call for love, we can be kind.
To appreciate everyone more, we can learn to clear the fear, find the compassion and love within and begin to give Love and gentle reminders to everyone who is expressing a need.
Give love and appreciation today to everyone, whether they need it or not.
You will discover how the world shines brighter with the Light you give.
Loving the “Father” within all of us,
Betty Lue
