Stewardship

What is a good steward?
“Caring well for what is given you to manage and utilize.”
Everything is “given” or some might say “Loaned to us to be used for good.”
My body is given to be used for Good.
My mind is a gift to be used for Good.
My talents and gifts are given to me to be used for Good.
My life is a gift to be used for healing and Holy Purposes.
When I use what is given or loaned to me in a blessed way, I have fully appreciated the Giver.

So what about working for what we have or earning the Goods in our lives?
Don’t we possess what we have earned.
Yes, in a worldly sense we do own property, but not people.
Yes, we own our own accomplishments, but not the sources of Life energy from which all things come.

When we look deeply at our lives, we are the product of all that has gone before.
We are the outcome of Love, of goodness, of the Creative Forces behind all that is.
We can take pride for how we utilize and care for what is given to us.
And we must take responsibility for how we diminish, misuse or destroy what is given to us.

To be a good steward, a good manager, a good caretaker of what is given, begins with us.
We must value, utilize and maintain impeccable care for our mind, our body, and our creative spirit.
Our responsibility is to be the best we can be and give the best we have to those around us.
Our responsibility is first to care for our selves with love, respect, appreciation and inspiration.

When we are willing and able to be fully responsible for our own life, we are prepared to inspire others.
When we are open and appreciative of all we have, we can freely give to others with joy and gratitude.
Fulfillment comes from not sacrificing or martyring ourselves and complaining about all we have given.
Fulfillment comes from contributing to others from our own fullness with enjoyment and appreciation.

Being a good steward of our body and our physical environment and things reminds us to be grateful.
Taking care of what we “own” and have reminds us of the gift of life.
If caring for our acquisitions becomes a burden or chore or is ignored, we do not value what we have.
If caring for our possessions is too much, we have too much to care for well.

Life is about finding the balance of having and giving, using and conserving, keeping and sharing.
When we flow energy and wisdom and things, we feel alive and receptive to having more to give.
When we are stuck in keeping and stockpiling and hoarding, we are living in stagnant and fearful consciousness.
Life energy works when we can easily let go of everything that we no longer need or value.

As we release, we are open to receive whatever is next.
As we cling and attach, we are closed to change and new opportunities.
Fear restricts, possesses and clings.
Loves frees and shares and releases.

May be all be good stewards of our lives by staying present in the Goodness of Now.
May we recognize that attachment is the source of our suffering.
May be freely share the best we can be for the benefit of others.
May we love life by giving what we have with joy and gratitude.

Loving all,

Betty Lue
