Technology Fasting

Affirmations:
I use my time for what is meaningful and enjoyable.
I can easily set aside habits that control my choices.
I use my time and life wisely and well.
I free myself from what limits my happy Presence.

Sending out this loving Reminder before Sundown on Friday and no more until Sundown on Saturday.

Technology Fast

Are you willing to let it go?
Are you addicted to phone, TV, computer, etc.
Can you just be quiet and enjoy?
Are you open to just 24 hours without using technology for distraction?

From Sunset Friday until Sunset Saturday, some are on a technology fast.
We are here on the Coast at Sea Ranch near Gualala, CA simply enjoying what is.
Looking out at the sea, walking along the coast, I am enjoying the sights and sounds of natural beauty.
As I pause, I realize how we seem to fill every moment neglecting all that is ours right now.

So yes, I like to write and read and meet new folks and enjoy the quiet.
I learn wherever I go with gratitude for all that is shown to me.
I receive the gifts as they come naturally from the fresh ocean breeze to the hawks soaring overhead.
I walk on paths leading to the beach where hundreds of others have gone.

What our phones offer is connection with others ideas, information and opportunities.
What we receive comes quickly and freely and at no cost except our time.
What we lose is time, intimacy, the rich taste, touch and personal experience.
What we gain is immediate access to what we want and quick gratification.

So try letting technology go for 24 hours.
Set aside your communication devise and try being quiet and simple and present.
Allow your mind to see and taste and touch and smell and greet what is right here and now.
See what comes to you, when you allow life to be right there for you and with you.

We are here with everything we might need, enjoying what is right now.
I notice that things seem quiet and simple and smaller than before.
I observe that I am more with myself and my partner than with the “thing” interfering.
I experience there is more quiet inner listening than reaching for the tech to fill me.

I love technology until I realize how it can control our lives and our time and our attention.
I recognize the value in the “things” as they teach us to connect, to learn, to heal and reveal what we want.
I understand how for many there is easy inexpensive or free access to widen our horizons of information
I am pleased people can connect far and wide laying all the barriers aside to be together.

How often do we use someone else make our choices for us.
See what happens when you set aside the tech habits and addictions.
What if you do not look at facebook, twitter and email?
How will your life be when you do what you want rather than read what others are doing?

Give yourself a rest to just be with you and those you live with.
Talk with those you love and those you encounter.
Have meaningful conversation with who you meet along the way.
Recognize the blessing of natural interaction and connection.

We already have what we need, but may not see and enjoy it all.
We already have those we want in our lives, but may not enjoy their Presence.
We already are living the life we have chosen, but may not realize it is our choice.
We need not seek for more, but enjoy the Good we have and the Good we do.

Live your life naturally and see how Good it is.
Love It all,
Betty Lue
