Do You Know How To Love?

Do you know what it means to Love Yourself?
Do you understand how to fill yourself up?
Do you listen and respect your own needs?
Do you treat your whole self with kindness and consideration?

Do you treat yourself with respect?
Do you trust your decisions?
Do you talk to your self in a positive and appreciative way?
Do you honor who you are and how much you give?

If you are tired, do you rest?
If you are hungry, do you eat what is best for you?
If you are lonely, do you spend time with others?
If you are afraid, do you keep yourself safe?
If you are angry, do you listen to what you really want?
If you are hurt, do you soothe, comfort and heal yourself?
If you are overwhelmed, do you stop and give yourself space to get clear?
If you are sad, do you allow yourself tears and give yourself comfort?
If you need have special needs, do you fill your own needs immediately?
If you feel left out or neglected, do you put yourself first on your priority list?

When you are fully loving you, you feel loved and nurtured and nourished.
When you are taking care of yourself like you would an honored guest, you feel respected and valued.
When you are listening to your inner self with care and attention, your feel cherished and loved.
When you realize your own life is your top priority, you take full responsibility for meeting your needs.

We learn how to love, by the ways we were loved as children.
We learn how to love ourselves, by the way our mother and father showed their love for us.
If they were well loved by their parents, they loved us well.
If they were inadequately or inappropriately loved, they didn’t know how to love us.

When we have learned to love and be loved well, loving others is natural and effortless.
When we have not learned to love and be loved well, loving others is often off purpose.
It is valuable to forgive ourselves for not knowing how to love ourselves.
It is important to consciously learn to love, trust and respect ourselves in order to love others.

Begin this holiday season to listen within and attend to your needs, hopes and desires.
When you make yourself happy, healthy and fulfilled, you stop asking others to do it for you.
When you keep yourself happy, you will cease being needy or dependent on others.
When you choose to be happy, you will find your life is fun, safe and easy.

Love yourself well and see how good life can be everyday!

Loving me and you, always the best I know.
