Ignore, Respond, React, Avoid?

Do you really see how different we all are from one another?
Is there acceptance or even tolerance of our vast differences?
Can we exist in peace with those who think, act, speak unlike us?
Is there room on this planet for all the flavors, colors and ideas of God?

How do we deal with our misunderstandings and disagreements/
Do we ignore them?
Do we respond by seeking common ground?
Do we react with fear and anger?
Do we provoke conflict and upset?
Do we avoid those who are different?
Do we live and work only with those who are like-minded?

These are interesting questions to be reflected upon.
My usual response to myself and those who ask of me is:
Find the place in which you can continue to be respectful and kind.
If separation is needed to be respectful and kind, then maintain distance.
If conversation is needed to grow into understanding, then find a respectful way to converse;
Ie. in writing, phone, in person or with a mediator.
If we are emotional, reactive, angry or afraid, all perception and communication is distorted.
The Truth will not be perceived or received.

Make the choice that brings you Peace.
In Peace you will find the Love within.
In finding Love, you will know God.
In knowing God, you will love all.

Let there be Peace on Earth and let it begin in me.
Let there be Peace in my home and let it begin with me.
Let there be church in my workplace, and let it begin with me.
Let there be peace in my life and let me give it to me.

In peace, bless us All, everyone,
Betty Lue
