How You Grow

We all grow best in our own unique way.
Some prefer being in the spotlight.
Some enjoy being quiet and in the shade.
Some do best with a little of both.

Some need lots of fertilizer.
Some do best with refined circumstances.
Some like organic only.
Some prefer to be in a hothouse with a controlled environment.

Some need regular pruning.
Some need to be transplanted gently to better environment.
Some can handle wild and ever challenging situations.
Some grow stronger through adversity and some wilt and die.

You know what you need by experiencing life.
But you don’t know what anyone else needs.
How about just watching and observing how people grow best?
Maybe we all need to tend our own garden first!

Life offers many climates and conditions.
When we are serving our own growth, we will choose for us.
When we are minding others; gardens, we tend to neglect our own.
Consider letting your prize winning garden of your life speak for itself.

When you are living with the joy of beauty, goodness and gratitude, others will seek you out.
You will be their teacher, the model, the one who they seek when they need to know.
You need never interfere but let them come to you to learn how to individualize their lives.
We all learn best through our own life experience.

Let go of your need to know, advise and judge another’s garden, until you are content with yours.
Enjoy the beauty in everyone’s life, but remember yours is unique.
Appreciate the opportunity to choose again and again.
But first let go of your criticism and self judgment to free yourself of guilt and fear of mistakes.

Only when we are free to choose to create beauty on a plowed field can we begin anew.
The weeds of the past grow through where we have not totally forgiven.
To avoid or resist what was, holds the thoughts in our mind and then produce like kind.
So release and forgive with gratitude all you have learned and begin again with enthusiasm.

Life is your garden and you are the gardener.
Enjoy and appreciate the fun you have in learning what is true for YOU!
Loving you,
Betty Lue

Please take this personally, if it suits you!

You Are A Flower in the Garden of Life
If you would grow to be your best self
Be patient, not demanding
Accepting, not condemning
Nurturing, not withholding
Self-marveling, not belittling
Gently guiding, not pushing & punishing

For you are more sensitive than you know
Mankind is tough as war
Yet delicate as flowers
We can endure agonies
But we open fully only to warmth & light
And our need to grow is fragile as a fragrance
Dispersed by storms of will
To return only when those storms are still

So accept, respect,
Attend your sensitivity

A flower
Cannot be opened
With a hammer
