Play and Work

We are flying to Disneyland this afternoon to spend a few days with our Grandkids. The twins will be 7 yrs. old on Friday and we have the honor to celebrate with their family this year.  Quality time with the children is always a treat.  Being able to have someone there for all three of them is a gift. Enjoying with them and watching them be excited and delighted is a blessing. Giving moms and dads a little break from the stresses is a gift to all as well.  We will be back on Saturday afternoon in time to prepare for our Unity Center Sunday Service and Workshop. The opportunities we each have to bring love to children and their parents and care-givers is essential for building a strong foundation of safety, security, positive values and examples of authentic compassionate and helpful relationships. “ It takes lots of love, trust and freedom  to raise a child.” Betty Lue

Play and Work

How do you play and have fun?
How do you work and feel good?
Do you ever play at work?
Do you ever work at play?

Sometime vacations can be more stressful than work.
Sometimes work can be more enjoyable and rewarding than our playtime.
Perhaps we need to learn how to “plork”.
How about learning to play at work?

When we choose to do what we want, we will enjoy our choices.
When we choose to want to do what we are doing, we will enjoy our choices.
Long ago I learned to change my thinking.
I Should’,  ‘I have to’ , ‘I Ought to’ and ‘I must’ can be changed into “I want” or “I choose”.
When I change my thinking, I change my experience.
When I undo my sense of disempowerment or victimization, I fee empowered and always at choice.
In the early 70’s I learned this tool from John Enright’s Good Neignbor Policy training.
It remains an invaluable source of constant joy and freedom for me.

I prefer to be happy.
I prefer to be free to do what I want.
I choose to be happy with everything I do.
I choose to be at choice and make everything to be a want.

When I am choosing, there is no resistance, irritation, fear or regret.
When I use the language of “I want”, I feel 100% present and able to give my best.
When there is no resistance, I easily and quickly complete whatever is needed with gratitude and peace.
When I am in charge of my life, I feel capable, confident, happy with myself and my choices.

For me personally, everyday is a day of play and work together without differentiation.
When I it seems I am on “vacation” to the world, I find I am just as happy and present as when I am at work.
Therefore, my work and play are 24/7 with no time off and all time on.
When I have chosen to give everything I Am and Do and Have for the Good of All, I always receive Good.

Yes, it is a matter of semantics to begin changing one’s mind, but affirmations really erase all resistance.
To use affirming thoughts and words appears as “lies” to some, but they actually erase the faulty beliefs.
When we are clear of limited opinions, false learning and mistaken beliefs, we are free to choose.
When we freely choose what is truly best for everyone in the moment, we discover what is good for us.

Loving you,
Betty Lue
