What Do You Believe In?

Do you believe in the best?
Do you believe that we can always find good in everything?
Do you believe it is possible to lose and love again?
Do you believe everything works together for Good?

Do you believe in Santa?
Do you believe in giving?
Do you believe in the joy of Christmas?
Do you believe this season is full of surprises?

Do you believe in Love?
Do you believe Love makes the world go round?
Do you believe that heaven is right here when we love unconditionally?
Do you believe real Love never ends?

Do you believe in Happiness?
Do you believe that happy people experience more goodness in their lives?
Do you believe that happy people are healthier and feel more prosperous?
Do you believe happiness is a choice?

Do you believe that the “Reason for the Season” wants only Peace and Happiness for all of us?
Do you believe that we are celebrating the opportunity to have and live His teachings?
Do you believe that our Creator and Source, what many call God, wants us happy and fulfilled sharing Love unconditionally?
Do you believe that religious teachers really want their people to be Good, be happy and be loving?

Is it possible that this season is really about the basics?
1.    Always believing in the best and giving our best.
2.    Giving simply for the joy of giving.
3.    Loving everyone with the best we know.
4.    Encouraging ourselves and others to choose for happiness.

As a young child, I knew I was happy and preferred being happy.
I wanted to give my best and be my best because it made me happy.
I loved being loving because it felt good and made everyone happy.
I sometimes wondered why everyone didn’t choose happiness, too.

So I am challenging humanity to choose 2012 to be a Happy Year.
Let’s clear the fear and simply give Love for the Joy of It.
Loving us all as we remember our true and holy purpose here.
Be happy and give Love.

Loving you,
Betty Lue

Tonight is Winter Solstice.
Some see it as a time of the greatest dark and the longest night.
Some feel sorrow, depression and despair.
Perhaps because of ancient memories of facing the long winter of bitter cold and starvation.
Perhaps because it is the end of the old year and the fear of the unknown of the New Year.
Perhaps because of the sharp contrast  between the dark feelings and the Joy of the Holidays for many.
Perhaps because of disappointing memories of Christmas’ in the past.

Some see this time as the beginning of the dawn of light and increasing light both outside and in.
Some feel excitement, joy and profound Love.
Perhaps because of ancient memories of peoples who overcame great fear and hardship.
Perhaps because they have forgiven the year gone by and are looking forward to the possibilities of a New Year.
Perhaps because they can see the dawning of more light with each coming day.
Perhaps because they are creating this Holiday with new ideas and a more loving way of giving and celebrating
We each choose our point of view.
Despair or hope?
Dark and diminished or Light and expansive?
Fear of the future or delight in new beginnings?
Feeling judgment or gratitude with what is?
Thinking and Feeling negative or thinking and feeling positive?

LIGHT
Darkness dissolves in the presence of God's light.
The winter solstice marks the shortest day of the year, but with it comes the promise of greater sunlight in the days ahead. Darkness is driven away by the light.

The light from a single candle is so powerful that when its flame is shared with another, nothing is lost. The candlelight illuminates the darkness, time and time again.

Divine light drives away darkness in my mind and in my life. When I shift my attention away from dark thoughts and focus on prayers of gratitude and joy, the spark of divinity ignites within me.

I joyously share God's light with others. As God's light shines through me, my life and the lives of others are uplifted.
I am writing you a new commandment ... because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.--1 John 2:8
