Dealing with the World, People and Things

Now what about the world we see?
How do we handle it all differently?
How do we forgive what we judge?
How do we fix what is wrong, bad and sick?

Ahhhh!
This is where practice comes to play.
This is where our spiritual path is unique to us.
This is where we have some choices to make.
This is where we need to be aware and awake.

If we believe in the world’s belief system, we need to judge and fear, avoid and resist, confront and hate.
If we believe in the world’s woes and wrongs, whining and criticism, we need to fix, defend and punish.
If we believe in the world’s investments in money, achievements and safety, we need to work and worry.
If we believe we the body is who we are, we need to do anything we can to stay in a body longer.

What if this is the place where we explore and experiment.
What if the physical world is where we get lost and confused.
What if having an ego is what holds us captive in our own fearful thought system.
What if stuff and things, bodies and money and specialness are our distraction, attachment and delay.

So now what?
Let’s look for something real and lasting.
Let’s let go of what loses its lustre and stay with what shines always.
Let’s trade in conflict for peace and fear for love.
Let’s erase our limited thinking and surrender to an open mind.

The body is a communication device, to be used to communicate Love.
The mind is like a computer, programmed with historical fear or given to creating Goodness and Love.
Our temporary physical life is a place to practice or choose conflict or peace.
Our worth does not change with what we teach or make or think or give.

So love my neighbor as I love my true Self, always listening with how I can more truly love.
Give to others only with Joy and Gratitude, not out of duty and obligation.
Be present with the best I know and have within me, always clearing my self doubts and fears.
Honor everyone by forgiving all mistakes and seeing them choosing again from the heart.

Here is one of my favorites for you to consider in everything you are and do.

Loving you,
Betty Lue

Do It Anyway
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies.  Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you.
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy it all overnight.
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough.
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.
