Happiness Guides Us Home

Happiness provides guideposts to our true purpose.
Happiness gives us a light heart and open mind.
Happiness expands our consciousness and creativity.
Happiness is a state of wonder, gratitude and DeLight.

When we are not trying to be happy, we can feel what is real for us.
When we are expecting something or someone to “make” us happy, we can notice what blocks our joy.
When we are living out of integrity with our true values, we can feel our discontent and inner conflict.
When we hold onto our disappointments, fears and failures, we notice there is no room for happiness.

Different Personality types have different callings, different paths to experience and enjoy.
Different cultures and individual family systems create happiness in their own unique way.
Different genders and ages have their own ways for being happy and celebrating their joy.
Look for high points or happy moments in your life and you find your keys to happiness.

The Enneagram is one simple and obvious way of finding your unique path to happiness.
Ones often enjoy perfection, creating true reform, improvement and responding to causes.
Twos love to be helpful, to serve, to be care for and be involved in benefitting others.
Threes enjoy excellence, mastery, performance and being successful.  (Robert)
Fours respond to creating, being unique and different, individuality.
Fives value knowledge, wisdom, vision, and seeking for higher truths.
Sixes appreciate loyalty, family, togetherness and cooperation.
Sevens delight in novelty, diversity, and inspiring projects and ideas. (Me)
Eights enjoy leadership and fighting for the underdog.
Nines appreciate peaceful interaction, simple living and loving.
(This is a major simplification of a very extensive and broadly used and researched tool.
Which I highly recommend to those who want to better understand themselves and others.
Many interpretations, many tests and many descriptions of each personality type.)

When you look at your whole life and focus in on your most happy and ecstatic  of blissful moments, you may find the qualities or values or experiences that resonate with your authentic Self.
If you look at your most unhappy, discouraging, dark thoughts and experiences, you may find what most blocks your true inner contentment and happiness.
The key is to look, to be honest with yourself, to honor and accept what you see.
What we judge, hate, resist and avoid seeing and revealing, we cannot heal and forgive and release.

Choose the people with whom you associate.
Choose the experiences that you give yourself.
Choose the thoughts you think about yourself and others.
Choose the words you say and the work you do.

As you choose what awakens the natural joy in you, you will uncover your true path and purpose.
As you listen within and accept what you “know” inspires” and encourages you, there is happiness.
As you let go of the blocks, limitations, judgments, fears and hatred, there is room for enjoyment.
As you understand yourself and step away from others’ expectations, you will find your own Joy.

Loving you in Loving You,
Betty Lue

Do It Anyway
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies.  Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you.
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy it all overnight.
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough.
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.
