Perhaps God Is

This morning I had a clear experience God Is whatever we need God to be.
Perhaps it is our choice as to what God will be for us.
If we need a fairy Godmother, God will be.
If we need a scapegoat, God will be.
If we need a rescuer, God will be.
If we need a healer, God will be.
If we need a counselor, God will be.
If we need a judge, God will be.
If we need an investor, God will be.
If we need a parent, God will be.
If we need a friend, God will be.
If we need a listener, God will be.
If we need no God, God will not be.
If we need an awesome God, God will be.
If we need a forgiving God, God will be.
God will be for us whatever we need God to be.

When we are toddlers, we need a nurturing and gently guiding God.
When we are learning to express ourselves, we need a freeing and trusting God.
When we are serving others by being helpful, we need a God that directs us in our service.
When we are in our adolescence, we may need no God or to be God.
When we are in trouble, we may need a God that punishes or a God that forgives.
When we are trying to achieve, to be successful, we may need a directive and assertive God.

Each of us can look at our own version of our relationship with what we call God.
Some see God outside and all mighty, the fearsome God.
Some see God as inside and gently teaching and guiding.
Some see God as best friend, companion and comforter.

You may find that your perception of God rests on your perception of yourself and your needs.
You may find that you have sought the God you prefer, but not found the God you need.
You may judge others’ view of God, because you are so attached to your own.
You may avoid considering others’ relationships with God, because you judge you are right.

However you see and claim your God to be, consider that others may need a different relationship.
Whenever you need another facet of God, consider that you can simply ask for what you need.
Whoever and however you want God to be ( or not at all), you can have your way.
God is and God does as we conceive and believe, for so it is ordained that God provides.

I love listening, learning, letting go and loving All That Is.
What you and I believe, we make true for ourselves.
Whatever we ask for, we experience to the degree to which we believe and commit.
Our journey is learning that we are choosing and our choices help us learn.

Loving you and All,
Betty Lue
